Sandra María Serna Toro, LL.M. Int.                                                                                                                               Director of Legal Affairs and Corporate Relations

Lawyer, University of Santiago de Cali, Specialist in Customs Procedure and Law, University of San Buenaventura, in Cartagena de Indias; Master’s degree in International Law, Investments, Commerce and Arbitration, University of Heidelberg (Germany), in association with the Max Planck Institute and the Institute of International  Studies of the University of Chile.

In addition to her degree in International Commerce, with the University of   Heidelberg , she has furthered her studies of  NAFTA, the North American Free Trade Agreement and legislation of Canadian Customs’ Law with the Canadian Society of Customs Brokers.

Her professional experience has been as an attorney of Customs’ Law and Foreign Trade, Real Estate Law and Immigration in addition to numerous years in the financial sector.

In the academic field she has taught Customs’ Law and International trade.

Doctora Serna is located in  Medellin. She speaks Spanish and English.


David K.W. Steckenreiter                                                                                                                                      Director of International Relations

David has more than 30 years of proficiency in managing businesses in the Hospitality, Retail and Educational Industries.

His career includes experience as an importer as well as a hands on understanding of patents, copyright, trademarks, David Cartagenaservice marks and appellations of origin (including IP studies with the World Intellectual Property Organization).

He is a published author and composer.

His lengthy post secondary education has also included, laboratory sciences, the arts, business law and administration, with additional Leadership Training during his 6 years service with the Canadian Armed Forces.

David is currently Editor and CEO of EscapeArtist Colombia and Ecuador



  1. I am considering staying in Colombia , I have been here five years and speak limited Spanish , I am currently on a Spousal visa ….. I may need assistance in the matter my cedula and visa expire in Early May 2014 . I am not conducive to traveling to Bogotá /
